Game Basics

Dina Chehab

Prompt: Students will make simplified Point A --> Point B gameboards to begin to think through game strategy.

Instructions

  1. Using the visual above as an example, create a simplistic board game with 20 squares from Start to Finish.
  2. Then, create 10 cards that help or hinder players from reaching the Finish point. Your cards should be thematically connected to the area of O'ahu where your game is placed.
  3. You may use dice or flipping a coin as the final component of movement.
  4. Play your game once, adjust your cards as needed, and be ready for the other two teams to play it!
  5. Use this slide TEMPLATE to record your game analysis feedback.

Deliverable: Create and post your slides to the Response Tab by the end of class on Thursday, April 2nd. Each person will post separately, even though some of your slides will overlap with your group.

  • Your multi-slide slide deck should include:
    •  Your character creations and land research from last week.
    • Images that provide clear details of your game from today
    • Your feedback slides
